The Garlean Empire's territory, north of the central mountain range, is covered in a blanket of snow. Although the apocalypse has passed, this place remains tense, the silent environment as if the land itself is still anxious about the unresolved suffering. The capital of the Empire has turned into ruins, and the people can no longer relive the glory of the past. About 400 star miles west lies a city of moderate size. Although its basic infrastructure is intact, the expressions on the faces of the people within the city remain stiff. The chatter on the streets is subdued, and a bleak atmosphere envelops the entire city...
